Overview

Comprensión Lectora de Lengua Extranjera (Inglés) is one of the second-semester core courses of the English and French major in the Education undergraduate program. The concentration of the subject is on the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The subject's main goal is to help students achieve communicative competence as beginner learners and users of  English.
In this course students are exposed to written texts, listenings, and audiovisual materials. They also have the opportunity to discuss and share ideas and opinions in the classroom. Some of the strategies the students will apply include--but are not limited to--describing people, objects, and places, predicting, inferring, narrating, listening and getting the main idea, delivering a short presentation, and planning and building a portfolio. In this portfolio, students may include English teaching and learning materials on any topics of their interest.
